Last week I met up with one of my wonderful couples to shoot a few engagement photos at the Del Mar Race Track in Del Mar, CA. We wandered around the grounds and shot a few fun, standard photos, and a few images incorporating the spirit an environment of the track. Here are a few of my favorites from the afternoon:
The beautiful couple!

Having fun in the stands:

We were hanging out where the horses cross over from the ring to the track, hoping to get a shot with a horse in the background. I looked behind me to see if a horse was coming, and when I turned around, this was happening:

And here’s my favorite shot of the afternoon:

These two kids are getting married THIS weekend, so stay tuned for images from their wedding very soon!

This unflattering self portrait was taken earlier this week while I was shooting inside of a mock terrorist shelter… hence the eerie beams of light shining through the windows. Don’t pretend like you’re not impressed with the beauty bestowed upon you!

On Friday night, our good friends Kim and Alex gave birth to their for baby, Ellianna Jade. I was in New York on Friday night, but as soon as I arrived back in San Diego on Saturday, Jen and I went to the hospital to see the new happy family, and to take a couple of pictures. My wife Jennifer and Alex have been the best of friends for a very, very long time. I’ve only know Alex for the last few years, but he’s proven to be one of the most down to earth, honest, and all around coolest guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Both Jen and I knew that as soon as he met Kim, they were destined to be together. Kim is one of those girls you love to hate because she’s SUCH an amazing person. She’s amazingly kind and generous, and incredibly kind and giving to everyone. Jen and I are blessed to call them our friends, and baby Ellianna is blessed to have them as parents. I was fortunate enough to photograph their wedding day last year, and equally happy to shoot a few images of their new baby girl, just one day old.

Last week I met up with Audra down in PB to shoot some fun portraits on the beach, and in the surrounding beach community. I was fortunate enough to shoot Audra’s wedding last year when she tied the not with her sweetheart Adam. Shortly after the wedding the two moved from Southern California to Missouri for school. Needless to say, if you’re a die-hard Southern California girl, you’re going to miss San Diego like crazy! So, while she was in town on vacation for a few days, Audra’s Mom thought it would be a great idea to shoot a few “Beachy So-Cal” portraits to capture the fun, San Diego side of Audra’s personality. I had an absolute blast hanging out with this family, and I’m always honored and humbled to go from a family’s wedding photographer into their family photographer.
Here a just a couple of shots from last week!

Audra’s Mom said the one shot she really wanted was “a shot of Audra’s feet in the sand with her tattoo and pink toenails!”. Alrighty!

It’s always wonderful to see you guys! I expect a call sometime down the line when it’s time to shoot maternity and baby pictures!

This past Saturday I found myself shooting another beautiful wedding at one of my absolute favorite venues, the Grand Tradition in Fallbrook, CA. I’ve been looking forward to shooting this wedding for some time, as I knew that every detail of the wedding was going to be planned out perfectly. The family of the bride and groom could not have been nicer, and welcomed me into their day with open arms. I’m so lucky to always have clients that truly appreciate the importance of photographs on their wedding day, and do everything they can to make my job easier.
Here are a few shots from the beautiful day. First, a detail of the beautiful dress:

The bride’s favorite color is hot pink, so I had a feeling I’d see these when I showed up!

The gorgeous bouquet:

Curler overload!

It’s often a team effort to put the finishing touches on the dress:

The groom was lookin’ stylish:

The couple incorporated their adorable pug “Pigsley” into the ceremony as the ring bearer. Here he is about to cruise down the aisle:

Such a beautiful day!

Married!

I love this little moment just a few seconds after the ceremony:

A nice shot with their little boy!

I hope you two are having a blast in Jamaica! Thanks for letting be a part of your day!
A BIG thank you goes out to Mr. David Baxter of Ohana Photographers for helping me out all day. You are a rockstar! And one more shout out to Grant from Rolling Hills Productions for being one of the easiest-to-work-with videographers ever!
