It’s that time of year again! This past Friday night Jen and I hosted the 3rd annual Ritchey Halloween Pumpkin Carving contest. Our good friends Pete and Jena Ritchey have hosted the party the last couple of years, but graciously allowed us to host this year. We had a blast yet again, with everyone bringing their pumpkin carving A-game. If you want to see the contests from the first couple of years you can see those blog posts HERE for ’07, and HERE for ’08.
Now, onto this year’s contestants! Below are the 11 pumpkins up for voting. Glance through all the entries, and even the group shots below the individual images. There’s considerable bragging rights at stake, so please vote for the pumpkin you like the best! They’re displayed in random order, and I can’t give any hints as to who carved which pumpkin. I will say, however, that MY pumpkin is the best of the bunch. So make sure you choose that one. : ) You may only vote once, so make it count!
Here we go!

And some group shots to allow some comparison between the pumpkins:

The voting will be open until this coming Friday at Noon. I’ll post the results shortly thereafter! Thanks so much for stopping by! Please forward this along, as we need as many votes as possible.
Happy Halloween everyone!

Earlier this week I headed downtown with my good friend and insanely talented singer-songwriter Gregory Page, to shoot a few portraits for his forthcoming album, “Heartstrings”. It’s still a few weeks away from being released, but I thought I would share a few of my favorite shots from our get-together. We finished up the work on all of the images earlier today, and while I’m not posting THOSE images, I want to share a few others. This shoot was different than our past shoots over the years. We were looking to capture a darker, more melancholy urban feel. I’m super happy with the results.

I’ll be sure to post images of the final album when it’s finished!

This past Saturday I had the super-awesome-amazing opportunity to photograph my good friends, the Williams’ maternity photos. Not only are Brandon and Julia great friends and all-around awesome people, they’re also fellow photographers. I’m always humbled and honored when other photographers ask me to photograph them. It’s always a fantastic experience, and this was definitely not an exception. Little baby Alex is scheduled to arrive only a month from now, in early November. I’m so happy we had a chance to get together to capture Julia looking beautifully pregnant before we ran out of time. It’s sounds cliche, but Julia definitely has a glow about her that only comes from being an expectant mommy!
Here are a few images from Saturday:

I love this shot!

Julia:

Thank you guys so much for allowing me to photograph you. You are both going to be fantastic parents, and I can’t wait to meet little Alex!
