One of the things I love about the holiday season and my profession, is that each year I’m fortunate enough to photograph some of the same families, reconnect with them, and see how the kids have grown. I first photograph the Gonzales family last year, when their little girl Danica was only 4 months old. She’s now running around like crazy, and just a adorable as ever. We once again headed to Balboa Park (a favorite place for the family) and shot a few images for their holiday cards.
Here are a few of my faves:
A beautiful, happy family!

A couple shots of the super-cute Danica!

I love this shot of Danica and Dad!

And one final shot similar to a favorite shot from last year, walking across the bridge at sunset:

Thanks again for another fun time you guys! I can’t wait to see you again soon!

These two beautiful kids are getting married the day after Christmas this year! Our schedules finally aligned and allowed us to get together last week to take a stroll around La Jolla and grab a few engagement images. The one thing that Maribel specified about the photos was that in some of them she wanted to have balloons. Balloons are AWESOME, so I was happy to hear that! Here are a couple of shots from our afternoon together…

Balloons!

After stolling through the streets we headed down to the beach for a few shots just before sunset:

I love this little moment:

And what beach shoot would be complete without a silhouette shot?

I can’t wait for their wedding next month! It’s going to be amazing!

This past Thursday I headed over the Coronado bridge to meet the Richeys, and their beautiful new baby boy Dane. He is 2 weeks old, and such an amazingly cute little guy! Here are a couple of my favorite images from our afternoon:

The next 2 are my favorites from the day. Since Dane’s Dad is a military man, he asked to get a couple shots of his little boy in his helmet, and with the American flag. I was more than happy to accommodate.

Thank you guys so much for allowing me the opportunity to photograph you!

I know I’m a little behind on posting these results. Halloween is over, and everyone has moved on from pumpkins, ghosts, costumes and candy. BUT, it’s still necessary to announce the results. After a week of voting, the people have spoken, and the winner is….
MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here’s the breakdown:

I want to announce the carvers of the 2nd and 3rd place pumpkins, as they really gave me a run for my money. The “howling wolf” pumpkin was carved by last years winner, Courtney. He brought power tools this year, so I was a little scared! 3rd place went to my good friend Paul, who decided to go for the MJ Thriller pumpkin.
I made sure to not influence the voting in any way. I’m sure I’ll be called a cheater by all of the non-winners, but at NO POINT during the voting period did I let anyone know which pumpkin was mine! I went with the cuteness ploy, hoping that Gizmo would bring in a few extra votes. Thanks to everyone who took the time to stop by and vote!
I can’t wait until next year to defend my crown. There’s talk of people wanting to do away with the template based pumpkin carving. I’m not sure about that. It’s not MY contest, so we’ll see what the hosts decide. If the rules are changed, I will adapt, and come back even stronger!
